The paper “Identification of levers and barriers for the adoption of new ATM technologies” was presented at the ATRS World Conference, organised by the Air Transport Research Society

Eef Delhaye, from Transport and Mobility Leuven, one of ITACA’s consortium members, presented the paper Identification of levers and barriers for the adoption of new ATM technologies at the 24th ATRS World Conference 2021, which took place online between the 26th and 29th of August 2021.

This work carried out by Eef Delhaye, Saskia van der Loo, Christophe Heyndrickx, Danlin Zheng Zhang, and Adrián Fabio analyses the main levers and barriers for the adoption of new technologies within ATM to find promising policy and regulatory measures which would increase the speed of uptake of new technologies. The ITACA project has further analysed these resulting policies with the agent-based model developed, which allows the representation of the complex decisions and interactions between ATM stakeholders and their impact on the development and implementation of new technologies.
